FRESH

1. ocean.
2. wonder.
3. to understand.

Days like these, when sunshine drips like honey through the window; the smoothie blender whirrs in the morning; warm, deep winds rush through the hallway; laugher resounds; pillars of light creep into a small white room; we cling to fresh, white sheets at night; a candle flickers as we drift off to sleep.  Life is slow and simple; it is honest and good.  How privileged and blessed we are.

Life rushes past and we try to hold our breaths, try to sip in the richness of now, embrace summertime and wind and sea salt and laughter.  We're tangled in between our own failures and worries - loosen them, let them slip out of our grasp.  Perhaps, after all, they do not belong to our souls.

To find happiness in quiet, unexpected moments or objects - flowers in the yard, a drink or a nap, a good breakfast.  Live simply and wholly.

The rest of January is busy.  I'm looking forward to days packed with photo sessions and the thrill of deadlines (a paradox of sorts, because simultaneously I hate deadlines).

In other news!  I'm not (really) doing New Year's Resolutions; I'm forming and utilising what I like to think of as New Day's Resolutions.  Here's a short run-down:

As soon as you wake up every morning, write 5 things you would like to accomplish (big or small - perhaps even ranging from 'make curry' to 'finally publish that big article'. Then continue in your daily pursuits and keep in mind accomplishing those tasks. Push the uncompleted ones to another day. Always accomplish three or more tasks.

Accomplish! Fight! Dream! Pursue!

And have a lovely day. xx

    1. Morg, thank you beyond all the 'thank yous' the world! It's people like you who have inspired me to keep going creatively. I crave and love and thrive on sharing my images and words with my readers - you! Ultimately, people like you have coupled with my love for art and photography, has inspired me to pursue photography full time and led me to where I am today. So thank you again! And I, too, can't wait to see all crazy and wild and wonderful paths it takes me :) All my love! xx

  3. I love the idea of having daily goals and always striving to achieve them, and I know this is really negative for a new year, but sometimes I just feel way too lazy. I guess there are always big subconscious goals that may or may not be fulfilled though. I love your photography.

    1. So true, M. The 'lazy haze' often sweeps over me - particularly in the mornings! Fight against it! You *can* do it - you are capable of accomplishing tasks you have in mind. :) Take slow, baby steps. Do a hobby or practice a skill you absolutely love doing every day, even if it's only for 15 minutes and you can and will go far. I'm thrilled to hear you love my photography! :) :) xx
